I updated to the OS 5.0.328 for my storm and continue to have issues with BlackBerry Maps.

I get this message " Your current Default Services do not provide access to map data."

I was able to use BB Maps prior to this upgrade.

I have tried all the solutions I could find - Battery Pull, Re send Service Books, Re Register - to no avail.

This is making me crazy. Can anyone help, Please.

Are you using VZ Navigator?  Is so it may be not allowing another mapping program to work due to it being default.  Same issue here and I have Navigator installed.

Hi,

If you can, connect your Storm up to your PC and run Blackberry Desktop Manager.  Try to load the older version of Blackberry Maps(4.7) from your backup when you upgraded your Storm.  Reboot the device and let me know if that works.

The error you're getting is a GPS error. Double check two things. Find the Options icon from your home screen and click it and go to Advanced Options> GPS. Make sure you have Location ON.

Second, in BB Maps application itself hit your options button and look for settings or options. Make sure you have it set to use device GPS.

The problem is happening because of a bad map settings ipd file being installed with BB Maps 5.0.

To fix it:

Restore map settings from your previous version of BB Maps.

or

I have the ipd file needed to fix it and can post it if its allowed.

If anyone needs the ipd file, let me know and I will send it to you.
