Re: USB720 nothing but trouble

Monitor signal strength by hovering mouse pointer over Signal bars icon at bottom edge of VZmanager window.

Numbers bigger than 95 , 100, 100 110 are weak and will drop your connection.

Good luck all.

Re: USB720 nothing but trouble

An antenna arrived last week from Verizon Free.

It is a 5 inch window mount with 2 suction cups.

No adapter  included.  It would not just plug in, socket miss matched.

Another call produced the needed adapter pig tail.  Adapter arrived today.

The signal is roughly 5 points better but still weak and ossilating to nothing.

The call dropped as I type this.  Still must unplug, reinsert, reconnect.   Hopefully some less troublesome..

Speedtest.com  Avon to Chicago reports

Download .58Mb/s, Upload .44Mb/s, ping 132ms. with antenna.

Download .25MB/s  Upload .22Mb/s, ping 119ms without antena.  Looks faster without due to ossilating poor signal....

Signal reads 93 dBm to  120 dBm here with the antenna attached.

Re: USB720 nothing but trouble

Signal inside Indy is

73 to 90 dbm.  speedtest is:

Download 1.7 mb/s,  Upload .4 mb/s, ping 201ms with only the USB727 no additional antenna.  No dropped calls.

Compared to my work desktop this is still one fourth speed.

Download 6.48 mb/s, Upload 6.48 mb/s, ping 73ms.  Wish I could have my work system at home.  That is good service.

Can ya hear me now?????

Re: USB720 nothing but trouble

Number values on ping, download and upload are so much more meaningful than icon bars and frustrating emotive language.

I am sick of paying for this rotten service.
