Normally when you do an assumption of liability and keep the same number and phone, you should also keep the same contract end date and upgrade date. If you upgraded in June of 2008, should be eligible again until February of 2010. If you cancelled your number on your mom's line and got a new number using your original phone, the rep that helped you probably put you on a new 2-year plan to make more money for him or herself. Call customer care at 1-800-922-0204 to have them check the upgrade date and reason.
