We've all had it happen. You labor over a post or a reply only to see it vanish into the ether because of a power outage. Poof! Gone!
We can help you hang on to your drafts by saving them for you every few seconds. The new Autosave Drafts feature saves a draft of your messages, replies, blog posts, ideas, or comments every 30 seconds. As you're typing, you see a message that tells you that a draft has been saved.
There are two ways that you can see your autosaved drafts -- all at once or one at a time.
All At Once: All of your drafts are listed on the right-hand side of on your profile page. You can delete drafts you no longer need, or click a draft to continue working on it. (see screenshot on right --->)
One at a Time: The other way you can view a draft happens automatically the next time you go to a Post page. For example, if you were working on a reply to a post when the lights went out, you automatically see your draft the next time you try to reply to that post. The system tells you that you have an autosaved draft and asks if you want to load that draft and continue working or discard the draft and start over.
If you discard the draft, it's gone. Likewise, if you deliberately leave a page where you have an autosaved draft (by clicking Cancel for example), the system discards the autosaved draft.
Now that you know about this feature, go take a look at your Profile page and see if you have any posts that you meant to finish! As always, let us know what you think.
