Some might ask what in the world is a Lithy? Well, let me tell you. The “Lithys” are also known as the Social Customer Excellence Awards presented every year by our vendor Lithium (the powerhouse behind our forums). Every year, your community management team attends the annual LiNC conference where we get to meet other community practitioners who also use the Lithium platform. We also get to meet the people at Lithium, such as our customer success manager, and that helps us with ideas for how we can better serve you, our Verizon Community. I need to stop right here and give a shout out to DougS for hanging back with our awesome moderators (Kalin, ElizabethS, and OrnaH) and watching the forums so that Jaime_Lee, BeckyS, and BeckyC could go gain ideas and insight on how we can make our community even a bigger value to our members. We have a lot of great ideas from the conference, and in the future weeks, and months you will see additional opportunities to give feedback to your community and changes made to enhance your Verizon Community experience, but for now let’s stay focused on your Lithy!
The Verizon Idea Exchange was awarded the Lithy for the Best Community Business Integration. It has been great to see how our community members, through the Idea Exchange, “have helped change the way the FiOS product team does business.” In fact, it was from the Idea Exchange that the recent 1.9 Sneak Peek program was born. The Sneak Peek offered customers in designated areas a preview of our latest Interactive Media Guide (IMG 1.9) for set top boxes in exchange for their feedback.
In collaboration with the Idea Exchange and the Sneak Peak, 70-80 percent of what was put into the IMG 1.9 release was tweaked, suggested, or refined by our customers.
Some examples of customer suggestions from the Idea Exchange and the Sneak Peek are:
Since the launch at the end of July 2010, we have seen the stats stack up for our Idea Exchange:
So, we want to say “thank you” to our community for getting engaged in the Verizon Idea Exchange. It is your contributions and your participation in the Idea Exchange that have brought home “Your Lithy” – and even better – have brought home great products and services. Keep the great ideas coming, and don’t forget to vote for the ideas submitted by your peers that you like.
