Water coolers. Break rooms. Lounges. They’re all gathering places, where people chit-chat and get to know each other. You can relax a little bit, sit in a comfy chair and maybe grab your favorite beverage. We all need a place to wind down at one time or another. So we’ve decided to set up an off topic board here in the Community. For you.

We love how active you are in the technical boards. You’re helpful. You’re problem solvers. But there’s not much of a chance to get to know each other over DVR settings or wireless networking. Our hope is that you’ll get a chance to get to know your fellow community members. Who’s a hockey fan? Aren’t those gas prices crazy right now? Who shot JR? Okay, so if you’re posting about JR Ewing we’ll both be lucky if more than a handful of people get that reference. But isn’t it fun sometimes to know a little more about the people behind those community names?

For instance, I just got a new touch tablet device just prior to Mother’s Day. And I will probably ask for app recommendations over on the Off Topic board. Why there? Because we have some cool people here who might just know of the perfect thing. But I won’t know unless I ask, right?

So rather than telling you all to keep to just FiOS, home phone and high speed internet topics, we’re giving you the space to have a little fun. Go on, tell us about your weekend plans. Or your new tech toys. Or even the weather in your area. We’re listening and we can’t wait to get to know you a little better.
