Each year, April 22nd, or "Earth Day" marks what many consider the birth of the modern environmental movement, on this day in 1970. The nation was coming out of the turbulent 60s, and as a whole starting to become more and more aware of our impact on the environment, and how to be "green," or more environmentally conscious.
It was when the question "Are you green?" no longer referred to our favorite amphibian friend on children's programming or whether or not you have leprechaun lineage. It meant "Do you care about the environment?"
After my several years of recycling our household trash and volunteering at recycling events at my daughter's school and brownie troop, and even using reusable cloth diapers for my second child, it feels good to be associated with a company like Verizon that is environmentally conscious.

More and more business are utilizing telework, and the thinking has really shifted. Numerous studies have shown that besides the work/life balance and commuting savings, employees who work from home are overall happier and even more efficient.

Since it is Earth Day, we thought it would be nice to "call out the green" in our community, and see what we're all doing not just today, but every day to be more "green."
