Watching the “end of year” presentations reminded me how wonderful it is to be able to be in “learning” mode with other people (friends). It is fun to be able to log into the forums and see people of all different levels of knowledge and backgrounds help each other. I encourage everyone to take notice of the great work and posts (MVP listings) showcased in our Recognition Room. Those are just a snippet of selections submitted to me weekly by the moderation staff. It is always SO hard to pick! The community member highlights are hard to choose too. We have so many members that make such valuable contributions.
Today, I am going to take some time and recognize some more of our Community Leaders. Our Community Leaders (CLs) are positive folks that are very active on the forums helping others and working well within the community. I thought it was time to learn more about some of the CLs that joined the ranks in 2010 (jumpin68ny, mattheww, and jmcohen23). I asked them all the same questions:
1. How long have you been a Verizon customer and what services do you love the most?
jumpin68ny:
Jumpin68ny has been a Verizon customer for 11 years and enjoys both his FiOS TV and Internet. He works from home and needs to be on the internet all day long. “My company’s VOIP phone never gives me any trouble due to the amount of bandwidth I have even when I am running multiple PCs for Internet Radio, VOD…large downloads…etc. I LOVE the TV service. The HD picture quality is far superior to anything else I’ve see and my family loves the multi-room DVR.”
mattheww:
Mattheww has been a Verizon customer for over five years and enjoys his landline service, FiOS Internet and Ultimate HD TV package. He is impressed with his FiOS experience. “The services have been amazingly reliable, far more reliable than either DSL or Cable services. With FiOS services, you get what they promise. With FiOS, whatever is advertised, such as 25/25 Mbps service is what you are really going to get (25/25 Mbps service). FiOS isn’t sensitive to weather or distance from CO issues.”
Jmcohen23:
Two and ½ years as a Verizon customer with phone, FiOS Internet, and FiOS TV, Jmcohen23 especially appreciates that Verizon is willing “to expand on newer technologies and provide more than just shows.”
2. What do you enjoy about being part of the Verizon Community?
jumpin68ny:
“As part of the Verizon Community, I enjoy helping other folks out and I love to learn about the changes in technology or even new ways of doing things.”
Mattheww: “I enjoy looking through the boards for interesting questions, and occasionally making what I hope are useful suggestions.”
Jmcohen23: “Why am I here on the Verizon Community?...I enjoy helping and learning from others.”
4. When you aren’t “trolling the boards”, what are you doing for fun?
jumpin68ny: “Outside the computer, I love to spend time with my family. We play baseball, soccer, and love to go fishing.”
Mattheww: As a part-time, semi-retired worker, mattheww volunteers at a local hospital one day a week.
Jmcohen23: Lots of various activities go on with the family on jmcohen23’s “off Verizon Community time” such as playing ball outside, riding bikes, or simply going to the park.
