Thanksgiving has always been one of  my favorite holidays- there isn’t the stress of gifts, just the fun of family and some incredible food.  My husbands, kids and I don’t have any set traditions for the holiday- we generally go wherever we’re invited with some pies and a bottle of wine in hand.  This Thanksgiving we're headed to my mother-in-law’s to celebrate.  We have family traveling to her house PA from NC and MO, including my two nephews that we never get to see enough of.  We also have my husband’s grandfather joining us this year. Grandpa’s health has been steadily declining these past few years and some major decisions about his well being are going to have to be made soon, so this holiday will be special for a lot of reasons.

I adoring taking pictures and joke that I love my DSLR more than my kids some days. But a Thanksgiving table with 14 people- 4 of them kids under the age of 7- isn’t the ideal place to bring out a huge camera.  So I’ve been researching free photography apps for my Droid in the hopes of documenting our holiday dinner.  Here’s are the ones I liked best:

• FxCamera- this app allows you to put a handful of different effects on your photos, like Fisheye, Polandroid, and Warhol. It's also easy to use!
• Little Photo- this is the free app I have found that is most compatible to the popular Instagram for iPhones. You can add some great filters to your photos to help make them look a bit more artsy.
• Vignette Camera- this is another great app with 84 effects & 59 frames. It's easy to use and some of the effects are beautiful!
• PicSay- this app makes me laugh because it allows you to put caption stickers on your photos. The free version (Lite) still allows you to do you basic editing on top of adding stickers.
