Accessing Verizon websites

We have been unable to access Verizon websites for two days.  The site just trys to open using IE8.  So, I downloaded two other browsers, Safari and Firefox.  and we have the same problem with both of them.  Verizon told me it was my browser.  Is it possible that all three of these browsers have problems or do you think that Verizon software is not compatible with any of these browsers.

If you have similar problems. please  post them here as Verizon reps have dismissed my problem.

Hello topdog

Sorry you are having difficulty, an agent with access to your account will reach out to you directly by email, private message in the Forums and/or the billing telephone number on your Verizon account for more information to help you resolve your issue.

It might help if you would provide the error messages you are getting in each browser, assuming you are getting some. I don't understand what you mean when you say "The site just trys to open using IE8"; do you get any error message, what site are you trying to go to (My Verizon, the Forums, what), have you tried starting IE without any add-ons to see if one of them might be interferring, are you trying to use HTTPS instead of HTTP, etc. Another thought would be to turn off your router for a few hours, then turn it back on and see if you still have the problem (force it to get a new IP address).

Oh, and did you change anything between the last time it all worked and when it didn't work? For example, install any Microsoft service, change any browser or Windows settings, etc.?

I have had absolutely no problem accessing any Verizon website in the last few days, using Firefox or IE or Google Chrome.

I have the same problem, I was hoping to find an answer here. I can access it using Chrome, but it was my homepage when I opened up ie8. It just keeps spinning......

One thought: I think Verizon has had some DNS problems in the last week or so. Have either of you tried using an alternate DNS server, like OpenDNS? If not, you might give it a try and see if it makes any difference. I have been using OpenDNS for years, very satisfied, and it is free.

FWIW I can, in general, reach most if not all of the VZ pages.  However since last evening (01 Jan 13 PM) I've been unable to view TV listings.  The page  appears but the Java or Flash applet never completes.  I tried again this AM and let it run for quite a while, but no success.

I have constant problems too. Just tried to pay my bill and got this message:

Too many redirects occurred trying to open “https://www22.verizon.com:443/ForYourHome/ebillpay/code/Payments_new.aspx?src=mya”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.

This has happened constantly for the past month or so. Maybe it's related to their newly redesigned site. Too much Java, perhaps. Horrible. I am going to have to leave Verizon if I can't pay my bill online.

Try going to Tools-Internet Options-Check delete browsing history and the then remove the x from "Preserve favorite Website data"  It worked for me on twh computers running IE8.

Please give it a shot and report back.
