Hi I have been playing a game for ~10 years or so on and off as part of a hobby. Typically I ping ~20 or less to it, but the past few weeks or so it's been pinging around 120+ w/ packetloss. This is not a result of any weather in the local area also. I do know that it does clear up around 11pm, which does me no good since I must be up around 5am for work each day.
I have copied a full trace route to connect to the game server. I have bolded where the problem starts (6th hop). hops 7-10 seem to be masked. My question is how does the problem in the 6th hop get fixed? Do I have to just wait it out? I know previously at my old ISP I was able to call them and they would contact whoever or what not and I could get it fixed within a few days usually.
This is the problem hop:

The problem is network congestion at alter.net which is a Verizon entity. They don't care or acknowledge that there is an issue. Plenty of other posts on alter.net on this forum bear this out.
