Can't download "Download FIOS Optimiser."

I received an email from Verizon offering me a download for "FIOS Optimiser." When I click on the hot link on the site, the screen blanks and then returns. No download starts.

I'm running win7 pro with norton 360. Thanks for any suggestions.

The optimizer changes the MTU size. If you only use a wireless connection or your wired connection speed test is fine, you do not need to run the optimizer. If you really want to run the optimizer there is a link on the speed test page. speedtest.verizon.net

Thanks for the quick reply Hippis. I'll run speedtest, but I haven't eatablished a baseline.

When I clicked on the offer to downloadFIOS Optimiser, my computer opened an Internet Explorer window in spite of my having received the message on Google Chrome. I received the offer again today and it did the same. I clicke on the download button, and was again not able to download the program.

I did a google search for the program, downloaded it in Chrome and installed it with no problem. Must be a glitch.

Download?

Its not a download as such.  Its a Java app that should run in your internet browser.  You do have to run Internet Explorer (and perhaps other browsers) in Admin mode in order for it to work.  Popups may need to be allowed.

AND THE OPTIMIZER IS NOT RECOMMENDED ON VISTA OR LATER.
