I need a hard wire modem through my coax to my computer, can I use a regular cable modem for fios??
A Cable Modem will not work since they use DOCSIS to communicate with the network. FiOS uses MoCa over Coax. You'll need a MoCa adapter (also known as a NIM100) to do what you're trying to accomplish.
As smith6612 said, FIOS does not use cable modems.
