How do I file a complaint and/or have my situation elevated to get something done?

I cancelled my service in 12/2013.  I sent my equipment back and I get a bill for $175.  I contacted Verizon customer service in January, and they stated equipment was not returned therefore I was billed. They put in a request to look for the equipment and stated I would not be billed.  February, same story. Received a bill, contacted customer service and they said the equipment was returned and I would not be billed.  So this processed continued for the next three months.  Now, I get a notice from a collection agency for the outstanding bill. I contact Verizon, they said they will research my case and call me back within 24 hours. Well, no call.  I need to elevate my situation and I want to file a formal complaint but the phone representatives give me the run around.  I am now being harassed by collection agencies for a debt I do not owe and they state that they need proof that I am not liable for the debt.  I am sick and tired of this mess and need this resolved ASAP but have not been able to get any results. HELP!!!!!

Hi billbatt25,

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.

Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

Not applicable

this is a practice most corrupt companies are doing nowadays, did you happen to get receipt when you returned the items if so you can take them to court and present the receipt as proof.

this just happened to me when i switched from time warner cable, they billed me at 711 dollars for "unreturned equipment" only a month later when i had their own tech come pick it up and hand me a reciept!! they do it just to keep getting money from you because they assume most people just throw out the receipt after awhile, its a clever tactic.
