Huge consistent FIOS internet lag.

I play a video game called League of Legends, and for the past months the internet has been shaky. However now, it's gotten even worse. In the game, ping is constantly displayed at the top right corner, and for the past two games (each about 30-35 minutes), my ping has been at a stable 85-88 with jumps up to 112-118 every once in a while. It's only that 20 minutes into the game, my ping caps at about 8,000! Yup. Eight. Thousand. I'm just really tired of having to deal with internet that claims to hold a good service, yet disconnects frequently, and is slow 60-70% of the time.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to fix this problem? Do you think I need a new router?

Thanks

It's definetely not the FiOS itself.

It could be wireless, but if you're getting good wifi speeds with low pings elsewhere, then it's probably the game itseelf.

do you every skype while doing LoL?

This is on a case by case basis, upload your results from the tool provided and create a post. I'll ...
The only info I need is your location (helps track data centers) and the resulting file from the tool.

Here's an example fix for the windows firewall.

Go into Windows Firewall (I did this on Windows 7 x64)

Create an outbound rule.

Click "Custom"

Click "All Programs"

Leave Protocol type to "Any"

Under the remote IP addresses section of the next page, add the following IP addresses:

50.203.115.149
68.86.85.141
68.86.86.101
68.86.95.114
68.86.86.214
68.86.83.6
68.86.89.209
68.87.218.242
50.203.115.150
68.86.86.97
68.86.95.118
68.87.218.242
50.203.115.150
68.86.88.230
68.86.87.37
68.86.89.217
68.86.95.118
68.87.218.242
64.7.194.1

After adding that list of IPs, on the next page, click "Block Connection".

The rule applies to all 3 network zones.

Name it whatever you want.

Launch a custom game and check your ping! This should help fix latency issues to the server.
This fix blocks the hops that cause high latency and packet loss.

Good luck to everyone on the Rift!
