Moving in June and still not being able to have Internet service is frustrating! I'm forever calling in to see if the so called "Central Office is Open" to see if there is an open spot to get Internet. To find out that we have to wait until someone moves out of the area and disconnects their service is pretty ridiculous! The other ridiculous thing is that Verizon doesn't have a "Waiting List" and expects people to call in. Even if we call in and someone discontinues their service doesn't mean you're guaranteed the spot because someone else might have called in right before you. I can't believe that this is how things are at such a huge company as Verizon!!!
That sounds more like a DSL enabled Central Office. I have not heard of any such issue on FiOS connections.
But yes even still, it's wierd that it is even a possibility, but with DSL it is possible
