Is the Internet cable on the same cable as the cable box

No, unfortunately it's not. They use different technologies so they are incompatible.
The verizon router is the only one that will work with the fios tv service.
If you're getting internet only or internet and phone then you can ask the installer to use Ethernet instead of coax cable, and at that point you can use any commercially available router off the shelf. Just no cable modem

Your question is not clear.
Are you asking about cable modems as Hubrisnxs inferred?
Or are you asking if the internet and video signal are on the same cable?
If your internet is provisioned for coax, then yes, your internet WAN signal and your FIOS-TV signal co-exist on the same cable.
As Hubrisnxs said, the MOCA WAN signal is not compatible with cable modems.
