While having Verizon FiOs services, this past week I have been noticing a great deal of lag while playing on my Xbox 360 (Playing Modern Warfare 2, and BF:BC2). I posted on the Xbox forums just thinking that it had something to do with the Xbox. But I was playing Call of Duty 4 on my computer today and it was also very laggy, getting connection interuptted every 2 seconds. I have reset the cable modem and router twice with no help. I'm not downloading some major file or anything like that.

I play the same video games that you do and while I can not solve your problems for you I can give you some peace of mind.
The lag that you are experiencing does not have anything to do with your connection, it is all about who the server has decided will "Host" the session. For instance, if I live in Virginia, and get involved in a game where that are multiple people from over seas, the game decides that no matter good my internet is, it will be someone else hosting. It is a weird set up, I know but that is how it goes. And then it depends on the hosts connection to you, not yours to them.
So the lag that you are experiencing is not really your fault, but more likely whoever is hosting the game.

I thought that for awhile too, but it happens every game I play, even when I am playing with all my friends (who don't even live 10 miles away.) I'm pretty sure it is my connection, but sometimes it's laggy, while other times it is not. It is very frustrating.

try running a trace route and posting the results here. That will give us a better idea on what your internet connection is doing, and may help isolate where the problem is.
In windows open the command prompt and type
tracert xxxxxxxxx
(replace the xxxxxxx with the ip address of a sample game server where you are having a problem)

Well according to that tracert, your problem looks to be between your home router and the verizon gateway. Now this only affected your first ping but the subsequent pings were OK. This can be 3 different problems.
1. could be a problem with the router. Try rebooting and resetting the router and see what happens.
2. could be a problem with the cable from the router to ONT or the ONT itself. Try calling tech support and see if they can reboot your ONT for you.
3. could be a problem with the gateway router. this is likely the least likely of the bunch because if this was the problem verizon would be getting a lot of calls from people in your area and it would likely correct itself. Now you can call Verizon and see if they can check it for you however.

I called verizon to reset my ONT, they did it but it didn't seem to help at all. I've reset the router multiple times, still no help at all.
