Is there a way to limited the about of Wi Fi time on a specific item in our house?
I use the parental controls of the FIOS router and limit my kids to the internet from 3pm to 8pm during the week. It's pretty self explanatory, go the the router click on parental controls.
I also would recommend getting a service like opendns to prevent them to going to websites that are in approiate.
