One fios router and one third party router in the same household?

Hi there, recently I have noticed that my internet downstairs wasnt reaching upstairs so I wanted to add a second router. I was thinking of ordering an actiontec MoCA to LAN converter and a netgear router. Will the 2 routers conflict on my fios or is this in any way a bad idea?

No, the routers will not conflict if you take the proper precautions.

You want to connect the MOCA adapter to a LAN port the secondary router and disable the DHCP server on the secondary router.   Assign the secondary router a LAN IP address on the 126.168.1.x subnet (but don't assign it 192.168.1.1).

Thank you for the reply. As soon as my MoCA adapter and router come I will try this. Thanks very much.

That was a typo.  I meant the 192.168.1.x subnet.
