Problem Accessing Quicktime Streaming Video

I'm having issues accessing video from Quicktime Streaming Servers. I work for a company that sells video servers and we've had complaints from anyone with FIOS saying that the videos won't load.

I've tried putting my computer in the DMZ, but it's still an issue. I've tried VZ Expert services and FIOS support too many times already. Since I work for the company, I can answer any specifics about the RTSP handshakes that should occur but not.

It has worked behind every other ISP I have tried, and we have hundreds of servers across the U.S. that I can test from...

The KEY problem here is we have customers complaining that they cannot access videos at home, they're blaming us and so we have had to look into the issue. Due to the fact that it is working on any other ISP and any other router, you can see why I'm asking for help from verizon!

thanks, hopefully someone else has seen this?

Oddly, this "might" help.  Try it

Login to the router, Advanced -> Yes -> IPMG Proxy - Set IGMP Proxy (Enable/Disable): to Disable and save.

I just tried this, but this doesn't seem to change the behaviour at all. thanks for the idea though

Perhaps it is a Quality of Service (QoS) issue and thus the streaming needs prioritization through QoS.

Is the Firewall within their FiOS router enabled, or should I say is this with all FiOS routers in general, or is this also occurring with non-FiOS routers connected to the users' ONTs as well? How about VISS being in the mix?

I would also try adjusting some of the proxy settings in the Quicktime Player. Sometimes setting it to use strictly No Proxy rather than the system settings helps identify where the issue is.

Most of the people I've talked to only have the ability to use the FIOS router since they've had the service installed and the installers did MoCa and filled the ethernet on the ONT with silicone, so you're stuck using the actiontec router because it has the coax port.

As far as VISS, it has not been installed on any of the end users that i've tried.

I've tried quicktime with and without the proxy settings, but I mainly use VLC since it gives a lot more diagnostic info.

the silicone is just weather protection, it can come out if needed, but it isn't enabled until verizon turns it on from their end.
