My Internet works well in the daytime. But the speed is real slow during the midnight, especially 2am-4am. This problem last about 4 days. Is there someone know how to solve this problem?
P. S During the midnoght, I cannot access a lot of websites in China, or the speed is very slow.
Generally the middle of the night in the USAis when most companies try to maintenance work, and as a result some capacity is often lost. One ISP i used to use took down their DNS just about everynight at midnight local time for a few minutes.
The other observatoin is midnight in the USA probably corresponds reasonably well to mid day in China. You might run a tracert to the web sites you are interested in at a time when things run reasonably well, and again when you are having trouble connecting. Extended ping times on the intermediate nodes indicate increased traffic, and I wouldn't put it past the Chinese Goverment to have filters to provide preferential service to domestic users. So when things get busy, the foreign traffic is likely to bear the brunt of any service reductions.
In short, I would be surprised if the problems you are seeing have anything to do with the Verizon Network. Verizon provides esssentially the on and off ramps to the super highway. No matter how good the ramps are, if the main highway is subject to a traffic jam, so will the connections to it. When you are sending packets to China or elsewhere outside the USA, very little of the route the data travels is actually on the Verizon network.
Thank you for your reply. I have used this service for about 4 or 5 months. This problem firstly happened 5 days ago and the speed was very slow every night in the same time period. And in the early morning, the disconnection won't happen again
. I've no idea about what's wrong with my internet. Do i need to call the company to schedule someone to come out and check it?
