Route advertising

From what I can gather, nobody at Verizon knows if a network route can be advertised over a business FiOS connection (i.e., the ability to route an existing network block assigned to the customer over a FiOS connection).  Calling the business sales office is useless.  The only person I talked to that even knew what I was talking about was in Networking (the people who do T1 lines and such) and they don't deal with the FiOS side of things.  It would appear that technically it can be done, but procedurally, it can't.

I wish someone at Verizon would set up a procedure for offering this.

Re: Route advertising

When you get an IP / IP block from an ISP it means they are already advertising your IP block into the internet block. If it's a P2P link or the private MPLS then you might need to advertise your network to the peer.

Re: Route advertising

This block was not assigned by an ISP, it was assigned to me pre-IANA.  Most networks are set up to ignore route advertising from customer leaf nodes to prevent network hijacking.  (Imagine several users on verizon and all the cable TV networks advertising networks that don't belong to them.)
