Router Access

Hi

I'm trying to access my verizon wireless router options but I keep getting the following message

"No more than 5 sessions at a time are allowed. Please wait until open sessions expire."

I've been getting that message for the last week now. Any suggestions how I can get back into my router?

Regards

Dirk

unplug the router for 30 seconds and plug it back in.

I have the same problem.  I'm not logging in 5 times.  I think it may be network magic gumming up the works by not releasing sessions.  Any suggestions there?    The real issue is that the sessions don't time out, ever.   So the only way to get into the router is to unplug it when I need access.  That's a pain.  Anyone out there got another way to manage this I'd love to hear it. #1 There is more then one listed at www.portforward.com

a) http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Actiontec/MI-424-WR/MI-424-WRindex.htm

and

b) http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Actiontec/MI-424-WRv2/MI-424-WRv2index.htm

Which one is the closest to the screens of your router?

#2 Check with any port checker that you do not have to download and install any software on..

For example, any of these:

grc.com shields up

http://www.dyndns.com/support/tools/openport.html

http://www.whatsmyip.org/ports/

http://www.canyouseeme.org/

.. if there are any open/successful ports.

b) and if there are any open ports. Are those ports, the ports that you opened (forwarded) in your router?

I can't log in to 192.168.1.1 also. It says "No more than 4 sessions at a time are allowed. Please wait until open sessions expire." I also have the Actiontec M1424-WR and unpluging for 30 seconds doesn't help. I just installed Network Magic Pro today and I had no trouble before that. I then exited Network Magic, that didn't help either. Any other suggestions?

Un Install Network Magic Pro. Even when exiting the program it may be maintaining connections through a service in the background.

Well that's solid advice.  I kind of figured that one out on my own.  I was just hoping that someone had a workaround that didn't involve getting rid of NM.  Not that I need it anymore exactly, but I did pay for it and I hate to throw it out.  🙂

I already opened the suggested ports. No help so I uninstalled NM  pro and voila` no more problem.  Kind of wish that wasn't the case because NM is easy to use.  Not necessary for me anymore, but easier than manual network setup.  <sigh>
