I would to have an internet connection next to my TV for Bluetooth which s on the first floor. The router is on the second floor at the opposite end of the house. Are there any other options other than running a cat 6 from the router to the DVD player on the first floor. The TV is directly over the FIOS control box in the basement. Thanks for any insight.

What exactly are you trying to connect up?
You say "I would to have an internet connection next to my TV for Bluetooth which s on the first floor"
Bluetooth for what? Are you trying to connect the TV to the Internet or maybe a blueray player?
Many TV's and blue ray platers have the option for a wireless USB adapter.

Here are a couple of options (in order of preference):
- Can I get an ethernet connection in a room with only coax (MOCA bridging)
- Powerline ethernet adapters
