I have a verizonn supplied wireless router in my basememt office whic provides WiFi
WiFi in the bedroom is sporadic prone to lost or broken connections.
Can i connect a second wireless unt , connected to the cable outllet in the bedroom. And if yes what secs do i need?
I am leery of bigger antennae or signal extenders
A second wireess modem/router would be the prferred solution

Since you have an active coax jack in the bedroom, you can easily add another WiFi access point or router.
The easiest way is to use the Actiontec WCB3000N network extender. It will connect to your existing router over coax and configure itself. It should be "plug 'n play." Since it uses coax for the connection, you'll have no loss of speed as with a pure WiFi only extender. Details here:

Other approaches are to use another Actiontec router or a MoCA bridge with a access point/router of your choice. MoCA is the technology used for Ethernet like networking over coax. The concept here is the same as above; a device attached to the coax in your bedroom provides WiFi. An Actiontec router can be configured to behave like an access point (no routing) while connecting over MoCA to the primary router. A MoCA bridge provides an Ethernet jack that allows you to connect whatever equipment you want, such as any Ethernet based router.
