I am trying to setup a MacMini Server and have been advised by Apple support that I need to enter the FQDN during setup to comply with their best practices. I know what a FQDN is but do not know what it is if your provider is Verizon.
Thanks for any help,
Dan

Maybe you go to dyndns.org and create a free domain name. Once you do that you will then go into the VZ router and under advanced choose dynamic DNS. Once you enter your credentials and your new domain name than you should be able use this FQDN in your server. This way the FQDN never changes and always points to your IP.

I have a domain name already and for the example below I used "mydomain.org".
So on the Dynamic DNS Page for:
Connection to Update: Broadband Connection (Ethernet)
enter User Name and Password
Dynamic DNS System: Static DNS
Host Name: "mydomain.org"
Leave other options blank.
Now what would my fully qualified domain name be? mydomain.org
