Verizon's results do not agree with Speedtest.net results, taken one right after the other. Why?

I know it's slow, I can't upload videos to youtube. Why the fake Verizon results?

What Verizon is doing is testing the access to their network using their server.
That is all you are guraranteed for speed (which is the same for any provider).

Any tests to other servers has to go through other network providers that Verizon has no control over.

speedtest.net has multiple servers in the same geo location, you should run a few tests from each server, you probably just got lucky and found the bad one there.

Actually the Verizon speed tests are almost always the accurate test results because it was meant for testing fios.

speedtests site can give ping errors, you can run into several bad servers, etc..

You have to run tests on several servers on speedtest to get an estimate of what you are really getting.

Try Washignton DC if you havent yet.

I just tested my speed with 4 different servers on speedtest.net and I got back 3 different results. Some servers seem more accurate than others.

FWIW, I recently found I was getting unreliably slow results from 4 different speedtest.net servers.  I reported those servers to speedtest.net and within a day or so, 3 out of the 4 were removed from service.  Reference the 4th, their tech support replied that others weren't seeing the same results I got so it was left in place.

Bottom line:  I've used speedtest.net for years and I have confidence in their results.  The speeds I see at speedtest.net coincide with speeds I get in real world uploads and downloads.  Having said that, while it's near impossible for results to be shown as too high, if you get results that look too low, do try another server or two.

No I do not believe any more on Verizon's fake tests
I'm testing all day today with terrible results on 10 deferent sites.
Only Verizon is giving me above 900 mbps and all others from 50-200 mbps

I already spoke to Tech department more than 20 times on four weeks, I change my rooter (according to their advice ) 4 times, and nothing changed.
I am tired for being deceived, as they promised me 1 gigabit internet and this worked only the first few days.
Shame on you Verizon
