If I upgrade from 35-35 to Quantum do I get a new REV N Modem or do I live with the REV F I currently have ?

your rev F is wireless N upto 65 IF you change the wireless configuration.

By Default it's WEP

to get wireless N quantum speeds, you have to change it to WPA2 and AES.

  • Log into your router
  • select wireless at the top
  • advanced settings on the left hand menu
  • then change to wpa2 and make sure it's AES not TKIP

I believe you get the REV I N router if you subscribe to 100+ quantum.

I have just checked and I am even older than I thought I have a Rev E, so I guess its not worth the upgrade as I have Gigabit Ethernet and N wireless devices and I keep getting connection problems on the wireless which I think are down to the FIOS router as I don't get them on the wired connections.  I will stay at the 35,35 and buy a new wireless N Router as thats cheaper than paying to rent a new one from Verizon 🙂

They do have a cheap $19.99 TP Link Router that does wireless N and 300 MBs.
