The Actiontec MI424WR is a router only. It is not a cable modem.
No consumer router supports 5G of bandwidth, that's professional networking equipment speeds. The MI424WR supports up to 1G bandwidth on Ethernet and around 130M on WiFi. Of course, bandwidth to the network is limited to the speed purchased from Verizon; somewhere between 25Mbps and 500Mbps.
Now, if you're asking does it support 5GHz radio channels on WiFi, the answer is no. It is a single band WiFi device that oeprates on 2.4GHz. If you want a dual-band solution from Verizon, upgrade to the new Quantum router.
Enjoy.
