I have the Verizon Security Suite activated on my laptop. It is set for automatic updates, regular scanning and all protections are enabled. However, the last two scans have shown that a Trojan has been found on my computer. Why is the security suite not preventing these from getting through? I don't open any email attachments that I don't know and previous scans have been clean. Is there anything else that I should be doing?

Software is only so good, and unless you are extremely careful malware will still get through. Security software doesn't protect against malware until after the malware has been released and is on the net.
Two things you can do:
- Be extra vigilant about the sites you visit. If anyone else uses your computer, be sure they exercise care in where they go. Some sites you think are safe, aren't. I read recently that religious sites are becoming a major source of malware.
- Even if you know the sender of e-mails, where did they come from? I refuse to open email from a college. They are a big source of malware. Nor will I open an attachment in a forwarded email. Another problem area.
