My computer just started to have this problem as well....I tried everything until I found these posts. Yesterday I realized that maybe it started after I allowed verizon to optimize the speed of my fios connection. I did not have the agent installed so I had to disable the services directly. My computer can finally get some rest. Last time I run anything from verizon.

I had the same problem and it was driving me (and my computer) crazy. Doing what was outlined above fixed the problem, but is Vz going to address this, because I'm sure a lot of their customers aren't going to know what to do to fix it.

ONE MORE THANK YOU. IHA_... did not appear in my msconfig, I guess because I had uninstalled other Verizon components (have a new PC). However, after you identified the IHA_... component, I went to Uninstall Programs and saw that IHA_... was not included in my uninstall.
