One thing that helps with Iphones is to make sure you are using WPA2 security on your router, iphone and other wireless devices.
Another possible problem is a saturated channel used by you and your neighbors. Try changing the wireless channel on the router from the default (auto) to 1, 6 or 11.

Another thing to note, if you have ever connected your phone to a network called "Linksys, Netgear, cablewifi" or something that happens to be an unsecured Wi-FI connection, AND one of those names happens to be in range, that could also cause issues. Please "Forget" these networks by pressing the (i) icon or the Arrow next to the name, and choosing "Forget this Network".
