Wireless print server cannot connect to router

Hi - I just got the FiOS installed.  When I went to set up my print server via wireless, it has failed.  It has previously been connected via Ethernet and worked just fine.  The print server thinks its connect to the AP/router but the FiOS router does not see it.  I went into the system logs and see the following errors:

Feb 13 09:56:29 2009 System Log Message daemon.warn sys_if_ioctl_mii_execute:507: Both tried MII ioclts 8947/89F0 failed: Operation not supported.
[repeated 2 times, last time on Feb 13 09:56:29 2009]

Feb 13 09:55:06 2009 System Log Message daemon.warn DNS: unknown PTR name format
[repeated 4 times, last time on Feb 13 09:55:51 2009]

Any ideas?

Re: Wireless print server cannot connect to router

Have you typed in the SSID and WEP key correctly into the printer? If that information is incorrect, you will not be able to print.

Re: Wireless print server cannot connect to router

Yes, confirmed it 3 times.  The print server itself says it is connected.  I believe the log entries from the FiOS router are evidence that it is connected correctly but that it's having some trouble resolving the DNS name its providing.  Perhaps I'll see if I can change the hostname the print server reports.

Re: Wireless print server cannot connect to router

Try to powercycle your router or reset it. Hold down the reset button for 10 seconds.  DNS shouldn't make a difference when inside your home network...

Re: Wireless print server cannot connect to router

No - that doesn't help.  The DNS: unknown PTR name format error seems to indicate it doesn't like the name it's broadcasting.  The DNS name its using is "dlink-9c69f0"

Do you have any problems with dashes in DNS hostnames with this router?

Re: Wireless print server cannot connect to router

I am seeing the exact same problem with a different wireless adapter.  The following is repeatedly shown in my error logs when my wireless card tries to connect:

daemon.warn DNS: unknown PTR name format

Did you ever get this working?

Re: Wireless print server cannot connect to router

I essentially did the same thing.  I used a static address on the print server.  It works fine now.
