click on the start button and look for the "connect to" listing. Your router has an ESSID and a WEP key. That information is listed on a sticker on your router. When you click on "connect to" it will 'survey' your immediate area and find all wireless networks in your area. Look for the one that is the same as your ESSID as listed on your router, double click on that and if your wireless is turned on on your PC it should ask you for the security code, there your need to type in the WEP key, using capital letters and no o's, only zeros (if any are in your KEY.

when i scan for my router it finds it but when i tell it to connect it cant,but if i try one of the other signals it goes right to the screen asking for a password but it does not do it to mine,this is the first time i am doing wireless is there something i have to do to my router,it says the wireless is on?thanks
