Can I use this box to hook up to the internet.  Eg. have new xbox 360 and trying to hook it directly to the box w/o having to use the wireless.  My HD/dvr box has an ethernet port.  I have fios internet, tv and phone.

Thanks.

This would be really cool if we were able to do this! It would actually make sense since more and more users are using ps3s, xboxs, and media centers. you could hook up a ethernet switch right off the stb for a room, thus eliminating the need for wireless in most rooms of the house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can wish right?

I was just thinking about this today. I was contemplating getting one of those new Sammy Bluray players with netflix and pandora, but the cheaper one doesnt have wifi. This would be a nice feature for FIOS, if all STBs could be used for internet acess.

I have also looked around, aparently there is a MoCa to ethernet bridge made by Actiontec, I wonder if this would work with FIOS...

just put a splitter in between the coax cable and the STB\DVR, then add a coax line from that splitter to a NIM, then an ethernet cable from the NIM to the ps3 or xbox or whatever   ?

Yes, it adds some wires and another box right there behind the stb\dvr, but, think about this . . . how would your device get its ip address if your connection is coming out of the stb\dvr ?   are we thinking the stb\dvr must also be a switch or router ?     IF so, that is not a Verizon-controlled decision.  Verizon does not make the stb\dvr.
