There have been reports of issues with service in Tampa recently relating to speeds outside of Verizon's network (eg: to other websites). Visit http://speedtest.verizon.net/ and perform a speed test, and then run a speed test at this site: http://ndt.iupui.atl01.measurement-lab.org:7123/ . For the Verizon test, choose both the Florida server and the Georgia server to run a test on. The Measurement Lab server is hosted in Atlanta, Georgia and uses the same test type Verizon runs on their speed test page, however is off the Verizon network.
Tell us the download and upload speed the three tests report.

Glad to hear things are improving. Give the second link a try again. It took me two tries to get it to work so if you press it immediately instead of waiting, you should be able to get a test going.
If you want to provide a traceroute to a site or game server seeing higher latency than normal, feel free. That will allow us to see where the issue may be.

Hi Guys, I have also been having download speed problems in recent days. Also had an internet service outage yesterday evening.
I had several online chats with FIOS support yesterday. After the first chat (and the things we did) download speed returned to just over 30Mbps, the speed I normally get. It didn't last long though; speed soon returned to less than 1Mbps. First chat did not mention the Tampa problem. Second chat did.
I ran the tests you recommended in the earlier post. The Verizon test gave me 0.787 Mbps download for Florida and 30.335 for Georgia. The MLab3 test showed 0.5 Mbps download stating that other network traffic is congesting the link.
I've been using FIOS Internet for several years and it's been fast and reliable. Let's hope Verizon get the problem sorted out quickly.
