Any guess as to when one of you or your contractors might get around to burying the cable, draped across my back yard, to the FIOS internet that nearly got run over by my wife and the leaf mulcher this week.

A guy showed up and said that he was here to bury the cable a couple weeks ago, mumbled something about the bamboo, and said he'd be back. Never heard from anyone else...

This is a peer to peer support forum. You really need to contact Verizon directly for something like this.  Have you tried customer service?  800 553-1555
