verizon internet security

I am trying to download the verizon internet security which wont allow me too because the computer shows that  a Norton virus protection is downloaded on. The Norton 2009 is no longer activated and has expired. I did try to uninstall the Norton but it will not let me. Any suggestions?

You have to use Norton's full uninstaller. Go to www.symantec.com/nrt. Download, run and install it. Complete that program and then restart your pc and then install the Verizon internet security

I have another suggestion.  Completely uninstall Norton and then install Microsoft Security Essentials.

I've been running MSE since it came out.  It's kept me safe.  It's much lighter on resources than Norton.  It integrates well in to Windows (I'm running it on an XP Pro SP3 machine and a couple of Win7 boxes).  And it's free.

Re: verizon internet security

I also like Comodo Internet Security.  It's a great free solution.   The one thing I would warn about going with free solutions, is that you don't have free over the phone support.  IF you're like me or el jefe, then it shouldn't matter, because you can often times fix and figure things out - easier and faster than most front line support agents.

If you're not so savy with PC's and would like the peace of mind, in having somewhere to call when things go wonky, then sign up with a provider like Verizon or Kaspersky, or Trendnet.
