Just want to double check because I don't want to end up with a huge bill for supposedly free movies ....
Free On Demand Marathon for the week of April 1 to April 7
I went to Channel 900 and navigated to the Free Marathon Folder. Was reluctant to select anything because all the movies were tagged with a price. Any way to make sure these are really free?

I believe you will be safe from any charges. On promotions like this Verizon typically doesn't alter the normal layout which is why you see the prices. If you want to add an extra layer of safety, set up a purchase pin. That would guarantee no unexpected charges.
