Hallmark Movie Channel 239 wanted in Extreme FIOS

The Hallmark Movie Channel (ch# 239) has some good old shows (Murder She Wrote, Matlock) and movies.  I'm requesting it to be added as a standard component of the FIOS Extreme package.  It makes sense since it is included in the higher Ultimate FIOS and in the lower Prime FIOS packages.

Thanks for listening.

Sadly, it USED to be part of EXTREME (along with MGM-HD).  They were removed to coerce people to subscribe to the higher-priced Ultimate package...so that you can be considered a subscriber to a bunch of other channels you don't want or watch!

This has been a topic for some time on these message boards.  It does not make sense that you could pay for a higher tier (Extreme) but not get a channel that is offered in a lower tier (Prime).

Some others have posted in other threads that when they called and complained about this, Verizon put the channel back in their package.  You could always try to call them and see if they will add it.

Even all the old shows of Murder She Wrote, Matlock and others, which were all viewed for free, are now being shown on the HMC.  This is really a rip off by Verizon!!!  Pretty soon we'll be back to viewing just the basic channels....for the same price. Do you know what other forums this is being discussed on?

I agree. Hallmark movie channel the only one that you have the lowest plan and highest plan. just another ploy to make you upgrade. When they took the medical channels off I had to upgrade. Now this.  I wonder if you look ahead at what's coming on can you change plans anytime you want. Upgrade, downsize, upgrade, downsize. I'll look into that. So I can manipulate it the way I need it to work. Out of town for a week cancel completely etc.

I also think having to pay for a box to watch the tv I pay for is ridiculous. If you want me to watch your TV you should provide a box to do so at no cost.

Don't worry.  They will proably remove it from Prime to remove this problem.Smiley Very Happy

I believe the problem may be that Hallmark insisted it be in the lowest tier, but asked to much for it to be included in all tiers.

I just attempted to get the Hallmark Movie channel added to my Extreme channel lineup and was told it was not possible after a frustrated 15 minute phone call.

I then asked to be downgraded to the Prime package and was told that it was not available in my area (Long Island).  I'm not convinced that this phone representative was knowledgeable on this so my next approach will be to go to an actual store to try and see if I get different results.

The most frustrating part of my phone call to them was that the representative tried to upsell my phone service after I complained about this channel issue for several minutes.  I realize its all a part of the script they are given, but that is the wrong time to try and sell me a new service.

I just upgraded from Prime to Extreme. Now I just realized that I lost HMC by the upgrade. PLEASE bring HMC to the higher level packages. It makes absolutely no sense that Verizon would cut channels as you go up in levels.
