No 3D Channels?

I'm upgrading to a 3D tv and was checking to see about 3D programming.  However, when I wasn't able to find any channels or on-demand programs, I contacted Verizon.  They told me that they no longer offer 3D programming, which seems hard to believe.  Is that true or is the person mistaken?

ESPN 3d was dropped by ESPN.  It was the only regular 3d channel carried on FIOS.

However there are still VOD 3d programs available.  HBO, STARZ have 3d movies available all the time.  Epix sometimes has one.  Verizon itself offers serveral mostly PPV.

The HBO, STARZ and EPIX offerings are free if you have the corresponding premium channel.

even ESPN dropped their 3D channel last year! you shoud of done a little more  research,3D is on the way out ( for now) ,but theres talk of 3d tvs  possibly being made where you dont need 3d glasses. we could find out by next week  at the consumer electronis show in las vegas. Right now the next big thing in tvs is 4K TV ,which gives you 4 times the HD resolution  of current hdtvs.,check out the AVS forum, DBSTALK,or SATELLITE GUYS websites, to name a few starting monday january 6 for more information on what exciting you prouducts will be coming out this year!( believe the las vegas show is on all week so they should have some new information evry day.

I know all about 4K HDTV, however, as I do not have thousands to spend on a tv nor is 3D the point of buying the tv, I made my decision.  I was simply hoping to take advantage of an existing feature.

Pay no attention to the comments that 3D is "on the way out." at least for movies.  There is more 3D out there than ever.

But there is no stand-alone channel..

First, whoever said there's no 3D OnDemand is...uninformed.  As mentioned above, both HBO and STARZ have 3D movies .

If you have a Smart TV or Blu-Ray player, there are 3D offerings on VUDU.such as DESPICABLE ME 2, JURASSIC PARK, SPIDER-MAN, THE LORAX, AVENGERS, PIRANHA,  TOY STORY, TEXAS CHAINSAW, SMURFS, and many more.  There are also 3D offerings via YouTube.

There are also 3D apps on your TV and disc player.  Which ones depends on the model. LG, for example has 3D RACE and 3D WORLD with FINAL DESTINATION 5, NIGHTMARE BEFORE XMAS, HARRY POTTER, and more. Sony has 3NET, and 3D Experience

And of course, there are hundreds more on Blu-Ray.  GRAVITY is coming soon. And Disney's FROZEN will be out (but ONLY at Wal-Mart initially)   I just saw CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON in 3D and it was a revelation. And I loved seeing THE WIZARD OF OZ  new restoration in 3D.

Of course, you may not be able to afford a ton of BDs. But you can also rent them from 3d-blurayrental.com.  They are a Netflix-style mail rental service devoted to 3D.  Who knew there were 3D versions of the Three Stooges, MARCH OF THE WOODEN SOLDIERS, and the Three Stooges!

And of course, there are more movies coming that will be released in 3D...I FRANKENSTEIN, JURASSIC WORLD, STAR WARS, 300, DAWN OF PLANET OF THE APES, MALEFICENT, HERCULES, GODZILLA, CAPT AMERICA, X-MEN, and plenty more.   Does that sound like 3D is going away?  In other words, plenty of 3D out there with much more to come.  So enjoy!

3D is dead.  ESPN 3D channel was TERMINATED due to a lack of interest.

So I'm guessing by your definition VHS and cassette tapes are not dead either since you can still buy empty tapes?
