It was dropped as a local by NBC/Universal.  They decided to make it a national cable channel instead.  At that point not even Comcast, owned by NBC/Universal picked it up.  Not sure if they have it now, its not listed on their site.  Verizon has been mum on whether they will pick it up by the time of the upcoming Olympics.

Thanks so much for the update. Yes, since NBC has taken on Versus and now Universal, it's a bit perplexing at times. I believe our local Comcast delivery does include Universal, albeit it under another moniker, NBC Something. I was hoping to watch the Giro d'Italia and these multi-day bicycle races are carried only on Universal Sports.

Oh well, it is what it is! Thanks for the update!

Hi, J3V!

Saw your thread and though I can't help with Universal Sports, I wanted to direct you to @VzSports on Twitter. If you're on Twitter, please follow him for updates on all things sports. He covers most sporting events and is always excited to talk about races, games and major tournaments.

Thanks,
