Not trying to be a wise guy, but in this day and age, who even gets their weather from TV anymore? (And if they do, the local networks cover it better anyway.)

I agree.  That's why I purchased a Roku box.  WeatherNation TV is available there and I no longer use The Weather Channel because there are too many ridiculous shows that are not weather related and every time I go to see the weather report there is always a stupid show on it instead of the weather report.  Maybe instead of replacing The Weather Channel for the time being, Verizon could add WeatherNation TV to see which service is better and then ditch the ineffective station.  We know the crap channel is The Weather Channel.  WeatherNation TV is only weather 24 hours a day.  I love it.  Come on Verizon.  Swap out The Weather Channel with WeatherNation TV.  Do your customers a huge favor.

<who even gets their weather from TV anymore?>

Seniors, for one. I can testify that my mother still turns on TWC if she wants the weather, even with all the extraneous programming TWC has added the past few years. Their live reporting during events, like thunderstorms and hurricanes, also has value.

I agree with the idea of adding WN while keeping TWC for a period, then perhaps dropping one (maybe when the contract with TWC comes up for renewal).

Fair enough, but she chooses TWC over the local weather? Our weather guys here cover every single snowflake that falls, so choosing TWC is a foreign concept to me.

Not every area of the country has good weather reporting on their local.  And some only a few minutes in the morning and evening.

Why are people saying "swap" the channels out? It would make more sense to just add weathernation and leave TWC alone since people do watch it and you know its not going anywhere.

I like The Weather Channel. It's nice to see the surrounding areas and more.

I get my local on the news/weather reports.

Agree.  TWC online is also not so useful.  We use NOAA.  We experience much adverse weather and need specific forecast information not available on TWC.
