It's to bad this wouldn't work, it would be a nice way to upgrade to a new DVR and not lose the content on the old DVR.

The one with the coax cable plugged into it will be the Multi-room DVR.  The other one will not have anything input to it, and will simply connect to your TV as a player.

HUH????? How can the 2nd box not have a coax going into it? Where's the signal coming from otherwise????

I believe in this case, the DVR without the coax would be a 'play what's already on the HD' unit (in other words, it records no new content so it doesn't need an input coax feed). Once all the content was viewed,or otherwise no longer needed, the DVR could be returned to Vz.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!

There is no copy capability from internal to external (or vice versa) and additionally the external drives programs are locked to the DVR they were recorded on.  Moving it to another DVR (or PC) will not work - PERIOD.

Doubly disappointing .Smiley Sad
