Activation Code Required?

I placed my order last month for Fios Triple Play and everything was set up smoothly except for the second STB DVR (we still hadn't set up the second TV and we were still in the process of moving/unpacking). I am now just getting around to self installing the second STB. It says it takes approx 30 minutes...however it's been longer than 30 minutes. I've also been on the phone for at least an hour on hold...so while I wait, I've been doing some research online. 

 

It looks like I need an activation code? I have no idea where the paperwork is that should have the activation code. Is it even necessary though because the rest of my stuff is all set up already?

 

The only thing one the second STB is the Verizon loading/setup screen and it's been almost an hour...kinda lost and frustrated and have no idea what to do other than just wait...

 

Any help/insight?

The box should self-activate .. the code isn't needed.   Although if it's been a while, you might need to contact tech support to get the box to activate.   Are you certain you have the box cabled and connected to the network?  It needs to be able to reach the internet to activate thru the coax -- if you're having difficulty, I would suggest using the working connection temporarily to activate the box and make sure it works -- then move it to your desired location and make sure it continues to work (if it doesn't then there is a cabling issue).

 

I believe you will find that it will be much quicker if you use the online chat tech support feature here under support  -- tell them you have a new box and it needs to activate but seems to be stuck and is not activating.   They should be able to push the activation for you -- and the tech support chat is usually very snappy getting someone on the line to help you.
