CLOSED-CAPTIONING

Are there any other people out there that are hearing impaired? I am and have had problems with FIOS

and my HD TV's (all different models) and it makes the captioning so tiny you can barely see it. I kow about the

accessiblity CC but I don't know how to adjust backgrounds and fonts because right now it is unreadable.

Do any other hearing-impaired people have this problem?  Also are you having problems with either Encore

or Starz and their captioning not coming through correctly?

Thanks,

Yes there is a "secret" menu that you can use to change a lot of settings for closed captions.

I have copied some instructions here from another web site:

"To access it, press STB, and then get ready to press the following quickly, in order - Power, OK, Menu. With a little luck, you wait about 3-5 seconds and a black text on white background menu pops up, where you can change the CC font, background, color options. Make sure to change the CC Options to User while you're here. When you're done, just press the Menu button again."

I think he meant to change the "CC Setting" to User, not "CC Options"

More knowledgable folks here will chime in soon with a better explanation.

I just went in and just changed the font and that did it. So great to see all small caps and clear.
