Cable cards - does FIOS really support them?

I have a problem that on a regular basis (once or twice a year) FIOS stops recognizing my cablecard{s} as being valid.  This causes it/them to no longer be able to tune most channels.  In the past they have fixed this but it usually takes multiple calls and/or a service visit.  This time I am on my 5th call to tech support and also trying a new cablecard with no resolution.  Two of the tech support calls were dropped - so I had to wait in queue all over again for an hour.  If they cared about cablecard customers should it really be this hard?

I have found good success by contacting support via twitter (@verizonsupport).

I don't have a cablecard but I haven't seen where people regularly have issues with them.

Might help to post your hardware configuration to see if anyone else has a similar issue and can offer advice.

The most recent hypothesis is that it was a Tivo software upgrade that caused the problem.  The problem is not being able to tune in a channel above 49.  Have any other Tivo users run into this issue?  I have a Tivo HD Premier (2 tuner) box.

The Tivo software fix is TBD.
