Can hard drive stored video content be watched?

Can video files stored on PC hard drive or NAS be watched?  I seemed to remember seeing something in a Media Manager update that showed this would be possible?

Yes you saw correctly that this will be a new feature, however I dont believe it has been rolled out yet. I have been waiting for this since the 1.6.0 upgrade late last year, but still no love from Verizon.

Hang in there. At some point it will come out!

The "Video Manager" function in MM is currently in Beta Testing.  It allows viewing videos stored on your computer and streaming video from YouTube.

Still has bugs as many videos that SHOULD play do not, and the Internet-streaming is limited to YouTube only.  No other site, like Hulu, is supported.

The version of Media Manager that supports streaming videos has been in beta testing FOREVER!!!!  No idea when that thing is ever going to come out to the public.
