I was talking to a buddy the otherday and we both agreed that there should be a de-frag feature on the DVR STB. Because think about it... you are constantly recording a new program and then deleting it... I am sure that HD gets jumbled / slowed down over time...

Any thoughts? Can we put a feature request into Verizon for this ?

I doubt this is very much of an issue.   With the highly serialized nature of recording video and the all or nothing removal of those programs in large blocks, it is unlikely the disk fragments to any great extent such as occurs on a regular computer with highly randomized read/write activities.
